Frequently Asked Questions

What is Kindred Minds?

down_arrow

At Kindred Minds, we are creating a refreshed, community-based approach to life coaching to help you build deeper self-awareness and equip you with frameworks to become a better version of yourself.

We use frameworks like Wheel of Life, Reflected Best Self Exercise™, Eulogy Exercise, and The Enneagram, among others, to deepen your self-awareness, identify areas you want to nurture in life, and provide tactical structures and frameworks to achieve your goals. Above all else, Kindred Minds provides you the space to pause, intentionally reflect, and deeply connect with an intimate community of 8-10 other peers who are on a similar journey to you.

How Do I sign up?

down_arrow

To sign up, complete the online questionnaire, select your preferred cohort start date & time, and complete your first month's payment. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us at team@kindredminds.com.

Is this a replacement for therapy?

down_arrow

Kindred Minds is not a replacement for clinical therapy or a substitute for professional treatment. However, many of our members have found that our programs have helped them manage their mental health.

We like to think of ourselves as group fitness for mental health. You typically go to a fitness class to train and build strength, resilience, and endurance for whatever physical challenges life throws your way. In a similar way, Kindred Minds helps you build emotional and mental muscles that will help you live a  grounded, resilient life.

What is the typical flow of a session?

down_arrow

Our sessions are built on three pillars: connection, reflection, and intention.

We start by grounding ourselves through a short meditation. This is followed by KM Check-Ins which aims to build deeper connection and vulnerability amongst the group. We then dive deep into the topic for the session by reflecting on our learnings and discussing how it applies in our lives. We leave with clear takeaways and actions that we'd like to implement to improve our day-to-day going forward.

Who will the other members in my cohort be?

down_arrow

We are a community of curious seekers on a quest to live a meaningful life. We are looking for a deep connection. And we are working towards being the best version of ourselves. The others in your group share a similar commitment to building a more mindful life and a passion for caring for their mental health.

The average age of our members is 22-40 years old. That said, Kindred Minds is open to all who believe in our shared values of basic goodness, intentionality, and connectedness. Prior to joining a cohort, you will complete an application and a phone consult. This process is in place to ensure that all members who join a cohort understand the commitment and confidentiality requirements to create a safe and vulnerable space for all members.

What's INCLUDED IN THE MEMBERSHIP?

down_arrow

‍Our membership includes several core offerings:
1. Bi-monthly sessions with a facilitator-led cohort of 8-10 others
2. Expert-developed exercises and activities that correlate with your upcoming session.
3. Regular One-on-Ones

What does the “expert-developed” curriculum mean?

down_arrow

When we build out our curriculum, we partner with licensed therapists and coaches who are certified in teaching the particular framework or topic.

The experts we partner with are responsible for developing the specific discussion prompts for the cohorts, the exercises, and learning content during off-weeks, and helping lead our quarterly workshops.

down_arrow

What are examples of some of the expert-developed, asynchronous activities?

down_arrow

All of our expert-developed, asynchronous activities have two parts: learning and action. Typically for learning, you will either watch, listen, or read a piece of content our expert team has put together. The second component will be action-focused - taking what you learned and putting it to action. This may be a 20-minute journal prompt, an interactive piece of content (such as identifying how particular emotions manifest in your body), or a particular challenge that involves interacting with members of your community.

How much does the membership cost? Can I get a discount on the price?

down_arrow

The membership costs $149/month and requires a 3-month commitment as you will be placed within a cohort of 8-10 others for that time period. The membership includes live sessions held every other week, access to the expert-developed exercises, free, and access to our online community.

While we don’t discount any of our programs, we have a limited number of scholarships available for qualified individuals. If you’d like to inquire about a scholarship, please drop us a note at team@kindredminds.com so we can send you the scholarship application form.

Why is there a three-month commitment? Can I try it before I commit to 3-months?

down_arrow

Community is the heartbeat of Kindred Minds. It takes time to build a meaningful connection with the other members of your cohort and for that reason, we require 3-month commitments - or 6 sessions. This gives you ample time to build a meaningful connection with others, learn from our frameworks, and build resilience to the stressors of everyday life.

We do offer a risk-free first month in which if you attend both sessions and realize Kindred Minds isn't for you, we'll refund your initial $49 and you won't be required to finish the 3-month commitment. All subsequence commitments renew every 3-months and require a 3-month commitment.

Can I cancel my membership?

down_arrow

At the end of every three-month commitment, you will have the option to commit for another three months and update the days/times that work best to meet with a cohort. You will also be able to cancel your membership at the end of every three months. Outside of extenuating life circumstances, we do not allow early cancellation within the three months period.

What if I need to miss a session.

down_arrow

Commitment is one of the cornerstones of Kindred Minds' experience. When you sign up, we ask that you try your very best to make each session. It keeps us, and the group, accountable to one another.

That said, we understand that life comes up and you may need to miss a session or two. However, if you miss three sessions within a 3 month commitment, we will ask you to drop the program.

Can I expense this to my company?

down_arrow

Many of our members expense the programs and/or workshops to their employer. Often times, employers offer a mental wellness stipend or L&D budget. Kindred Minds works great for that!

Why the name “Kindred Minds”?

down_arrow

We are bringing together people from different backgrounds on a similar journey to understand themselves and how to live their best lives. These kindred spirits are inspired not only by deep connection, but also a thirst for knowledge. Knowledge that helps them unlock themselves and be the best version of themselves.
